UK goverment anti light pollution e-petition

Recommended Posts

Appologies if this has been posted before, but there is now an e-petition calling the government to support the Campaign for Dark Skies and help reduce light pollution by reconfiguring street lighting etc.

Needs 100 000 signatures to get debated in the Commons! :)

The link is here: Stargazing - e-petitions

Done! 100,000 is an awful lot. Has that stargazing live thing happened yet? This seems like the best time to get people signing up. Coxy should be telling people about it.

I can't help feeling that the wording appeals more to emotion than the economics of the case, and therefore is unlikely to get an enormous amount of non-astronomer support. But I have signed it in the hope ...

Signed and confirmed email, will pass around. This should definately be a sticky so other members wont miss it.

Fingers crossed something will be done in the near future about LP.
