St. Mary lighthouse last night, north tyneside

Hello all

Attending a star gazing live event at St Mary lighthouse north tyneside last night.

members of south shields astro society were in attendance including

only 4 telescopes my good self and Caryl Jenkins, Peter Vasey, and Ian Wardlaw

however it was hard work as 900 people turned up and the queue's

to lok throught the telescopes were amazing.

would love to know how other events around the country got on

Hi Paul,

That must have been incredible. 4 of you with 900 people! Well done.

We had 160 on Thursday, 135 on Friday (in the rain) and 270 last night at Wasington and that was more than enough for the dozen or so scopes we had.

glad you had a good responce, i would have supported sunderland astro if i had not committed to south shields,

i never seen so many people, it was amazing the queue's were 3 deep at times and the sky was very drk and clear looking over the sea.

think it be a good idea to combine the clubs next year for an event like this
