Amazing detail in M42 Tonight

Sky conditions around Shropshire this evening have been exceptional !

M42 through the 300P Flextube with 17mm Hyperion was staggering.

Intricate structure in the nebula which seemed to completely fill the FOV.

Trapezium E & F were quite easy too.

What this may look like under really dark skies through a 12" scope is beyond my wildest dreams.

Same here in Berkshire - I think tonight has some of the best seeing conditions I can remember in over 20 years of stargazing. Cold, yes. but very dry air with virtually nil dew and no upper air turbulence; no Moon either. Tempting to go for an all-nighter but work in the morning prohibits.

I've just came in after sitting in the back garden for the past 90 minutes with just bins. I've never seen such clarity through binoculars before. The Pleiades, WOW, Orion looked stunning and I've never seen Betelguese so fiery orange.

Neck hurts though, lol

We had nice stable air over northern California USA Saturday night...was out under Bortle 3 skies and the view of M42 was breathtaking with my new 10" dob. So bright...so much detail. It was as if I was really seeing depth in the structure. I wish I had a way to image what I saw to share.
