Thanks both for comments....still have a verrrry long way to go though to achieve anything like some of the images on here!! Havent even got a telescope yet...but as they say, ''all good things come to those who wait!'

Curious, why do white balance on the shot instead of doing it post processing in raw?

Would it not be better turning it off and using Custom to 0 0 0 0 ?

Hi Sara

Yes your right, under normal circumstances i would process in RAW and take the shot without any WB presets.

On this occasion and as a newby to the world of Astro Imaging i was merely experimenting to see the differences in moon images i could produce using camera WB settings combined with various shutter speeds and F numbers.

I know on that particular i took nearly 500 shots!!... and i just happened to like this particular one. It hasn't been processed at all, only cropped.
