Stargazing Live events - Sunderland

Recommended Posts

Sunderland Astronomical Society is opening it's Cygnus Observatory at the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust in Washington from 7.00pm on Thursday 19th, Friday 20th and Saturday 21st January as part of Stargazing Live. Observing the skies will hopefully be the main focus for each evening. Our observatory has a 14 inch SCT and in addition there will be several other SCTs, several large dobsonians and a couple of nice refractors.

We hope to have the local branch of the Institute of Physics along on the Thursday night doing some practical activities with visitors. We also have talks, movies, image exhibition, meteorite handling, telescope surgery for those who got new telescopes for Christmas and the good ladies from the Wildfowl Trust will be there serving up hotdogs and warm drinks. Can't wait!

Graham:)
