K3ccd problems

Recommended Posts

Anybody had problems with K3CCD locking? I've had a frustrating evening trying to get the downloaded free version to work so that I could use my newly-arrived toucam :police::D It just kept loading the front screen and sticking - and even end task wouldn't get rid of it...

Alternatively, any other software I could use to record with the toucam (as far as I can see I can only get MPEG with the supplied software...

Couldn't get my new capture card and software to work with the Watec either :D

On the up side, did get the old software out and grab a few more M's. Will process and post tomorrow.

I have had wobbles sometimes with k3CCDtools if I connect a webcam after booting up the software. Try connecting the camera before booting up. I know nothing about computers and this may be all nonesense but seems to work for me.

Thanks Martin. I think I might have confused the laptop a bit by having installed the trial version of V3 first. But uninstalled it and then installed v1 and it seems to be working! (well, in the house anyway!). :police: prevents proper testing at the moment

Hi there Helen, just wanted to say firstly, I've been using the trial version (35 days) without any probs . I can't remember where I saw it but I think Martin's correct about ensuring the webcam is connected before the "tools" program is selected since your difficulty sounded very familiar to an experience of mine . Secondly, earlier today I read about your success with the hooking up your starrynight and mount and was inspired (hadn't thought of trying first indoors!), so following the tip from Martin re my enquiry over Starrynight ,I tried myself. And Lo, it works!!!

so it's really a thanks to both of you, and good luck Helen

ps here too :police:

Thanks everyone.

Martin - I'll remember Toucam first

Robin - I'll try that too (I like simple!)

Beamish - thanks - and that's what I like about SGL the 'I could try that!' moments (particularly when they work!) :police:
