Stargazing Live Events - Essex

We're running the following tie-in events (see website for any further details or find them on BBC Things to Do).

Monday 16th January - public observing and displays at Great Notley Discovery Centre, Braintree (7pm onwards)

Wednesday 18th January - "Pictures in the Sky" with Ian Ridpath, at the Henry Dixon Hall, Rivenhall End (7.30pm onwards)

Saturday 28th January - public observing and telescopes, at Great Notley Discovery Centre, Braintree (6pm onwards)

FYI - we have another stargazing night this Saturday at the Great Notley Discovery Centre, Braintree (from ~6pm onwards)

On checking it was an 82 mile round trip. Given the risk of clouds I did not attend. I hope you had an enjoyable evening and were lucky with the clouds.

p.s. at about 8 pm I got a great view from my patio of the Moon & Venus in conjunction. Also could see the phase of Venus.

If you are coming this evening, bear in the mind the weather is very cloudy and doesn't look it'll be lifting. We'll still have people there, in case it does happen to clear or if you just have any questions.
