2" limbo - Where next?

Recommended Posts

Just to update an old thread;

The 18mm BST Explorer works really nicely for both me and the F5 Newt. Comfortable eye relief, plus the twist up eyecup, make precise eye positioning a doddle. The views are wide enough for me and I really am surprised how sharp the FOV stays right until the very edges. In the f6.8 Zenithstar (that arrived since this thread started), it's amazing and pinpoint all the way to the edges. These really are silly value for money.

After more comparisons, I decided the difference in what you get in the FOV isn't so much less than the 26mm 2" Rev and likewise, the jump from the 32mm Panaview isn't huge, so the Rev is now on UKABS.

Of course, that would leave a gap in my EP case, so I pushed the button on a 12mm BST Explorer as the jump from 18 to 8mm is rather large. :(

Hi Russell, excellent choice, as you say, for the quality of the BST Explorers, it really is silly money, works well in my f/5 and f/9, stunning in fact!
