Omegon CCD Solar System Imager

Recommended Posts

Just saw this camera on a german astro site. Omegon CCD Solar System Imager. They write that Phillips doesn't produce their webcams anymore (a lie?). Anyway, anyone got experience with this CCD?

Costs 99 euro without infrared filter, with 1.25' adaptor.

Does it support long exposures? (to detect exoplanets)

"Exoplanets"? Like the planets that orbit around stars other than our own Sun? That's a tough one mate! If you are instead looking to take pictures of Jupiter/Saturn/Venus etc etc, well, at the very least get yourself a ZWO ASI120MC planetary imaging camera. Costs about $200 I guess.
