Io complete transit (Jupiter 22-Nov)

Recommended Posts

Last night I was out to capture Io and it's shadow transit.

I had good seeing that shifted to worst towards the end (some frames were really good, some blurry)

Nevertheless I am happy with the result of this animation.

Some tech details:

AVIs captured with SPC900 for 3 minutes with interval of 3 minutes between AVIs.

Over all 3.5 hours,34 movies processed to 34 images using Registax 5.1.

Then animated into GIF using GIMP.

Thanks

That is beautiful. It confirms to me what those brown dots on the Northern main belt are too - saw one last night and couldn't make out if it was a shadow or cloud/storm formation.

Thank you all for the kind words.

evilgeenius - yes, you are right I missed that in the technical description, the SPC was mounted on the x5 powermate.

Thanks again
