Adding extra CdC catalogues

I have trawled the net and found instructions for uploading additional catalogues to CdC. So I have done this, but then, when I get to the screen grab as shown below - I don't know what to do from there - Are they activated? If so, how do I access them?

Sara,

I can't read the screen grab, but the green boxes would indicate the catalogues are there....

Now you need to set the viewing parameters...

The Field of View (FOV) numbers tell the program when to display the catalogue info ie when zoomed in or at wide field

Also, in the Chart, Coordinates make sure that the Object list and Object filter settings are consistant.

EDit: You can access the catalogues via the "search" (Bino) icon....on the maps they should automatically display.

According to the forum:

This king of catalog are not directly compatible with V3, the way they are

defined is too limited, so I abandon them for V3.

But the simplest way is to use the new Virtual Observatory option. This allow

you to get any of the 9000+ catalogs from Vizier.

For that install the latest 3.5 beta version form

http://www.ap-i.net/skychart/en/development_version

Open the menu Setup / Catalog , VO catalog tab.

Then look at the documentation here:

http://www.ap-i.net/skychart/en/documentation/catalog#vo_catalog

To find the Sharpless catalog just type Sharpless in "Search catalog by name":

http://www.ap-i.net/skychart/en/documentation/virtual_observatory_interface

Follow the instruction on this page to download and activate the catalog, an

example is given with M101 Cepheids catalog.
