What a great display of Aurora, best in the last couple of years. It was hard keeping the tripod steady in 40mph + winds, it started just after sunset and watched until 4:40am when the cloud started to arrive.

Most images are 30sec, 1600/800 ISO,18mm.

What with the ISS and the Aurora it made a good nights entertainment

The wind was a bit of a problem down here as well but it was worth it.

I've not seen the red so intents before and at some points the green seemed to fade away leaving just red in the sky.

We've had some poor weather over the last few months but last night makes the wait all the more special.
