Hi all, Jon's the name. I was interested in astronomy as a kid, then got sort of distracted by girls, drink and music for the next thirty years or so. Got more and more keen again, partly as a result of popular scinece programmes on the telly. Then what really did it was Telescope House opening up a retail shop a mile and a half from my house. Now I have a second hand Skywatcher 130/900 scope with a couple of Celestron Omni Plossls, a pair of Revelation 15X70s and a very nice pair of Olympus 10X50 bins as well. My wife thinks I'm nuts gawping at the night sky (well, she thinks I'm nuts anyway) but my eldest daughter, a nine year old science prodigy gets it.

Other than astronomy, saxophones and motorbikes are my interests.

Sounds like you have the same life as me, except i'm not 30 yet, barely watch telly, don't have a scope shop nearby, don't have a scope, or a decent pair of bins, don't have a daughter or a wife, and not particularly into instruments or bikes...

But aside from that, exactly the same! :):D
