Mount advice

Hi All,

My scope's mount is pants and no longer worth using. Do I need to buy an entirely new setup or just an EQ mount for my 5 inch refractor?

Hi Spud,

Is it just the Drives that are bugged matey? or had something else happened to the Mount. I would say just get somemore Drives for it if it's just the Drives matey...

What type/size of EQ mount do you have at present? EQ1 ? / EQ2 ? /EQ3 ???

I would stick with the EQ5 just now even with the declenation motor not working.

Its more than enough mount for a 5" refractor.

If you get the polar alignment done correctly you really shouldn't need a declanation motor.

What’s up with the mount? I’ve got an EQ5 which works great but it needed a fair bit of setting up / adjusting before it was usable.

It's been repaired with araldite now, a slight design flaw was the culprit. But all is well again
