Hello, the name is Ian, a retired teacher living in Dordogne, France.

I have recently rejoined the ranks of amateur astronomers and bought a Celestron Nexstar 6SE. The skies here are good and dark but I am limited by my own oak trees to the west and the house to the east of my observing position. I look forward to reading your posts and asking some advice from you.:)

Just a few oak trees and a house is paradise to me. I'm surrounded by houses, including quite a few whose backyard high-power security floodlights are blazing away all night like supernovas ..... haven't these people heard of climate change? :)
