Autumn equinox meeting Milky Way

Just to make Brantuk sick:eek:, this is the Milky way from last night, 20 off 2 minute subs using the standard lens on my modified Canon 1000D, on my Bresser EQ2 thingy with a single clock motor, sorry Kim!

I just pointed at a fluffy bit in the west to see what I could get.

Stacked in DSS with a few levels and curves in CS3.

A bit of LP bottom left but Stoke can't be helped. So in answer to my own question, yes you can see the Milky Way from the Dark Site.

Very nice image! Love that you can se bits in the milkyway that are redish. Also very nice structure detail.

Did you consider applying darks when you made the picture?

Darks and flats might have been sensible but I was just having some fun.

I'm sure someone better than me with Photoshop could get rid of 'Stoke' bottom right.

Great shot I just cant get the colours in all my efforts at this one. Found it a real challenge that modded canon works a treat ;-)

Wow, how did you do that Celeste? You've cut 15min of my journey time up the A50 to Stone!

Lol....it's not the best it was just a quick shot....used lasso/colour range/contrast/tone/colour replace/unsharp mask....not in that order though! I missed a tad at the bottom corner and up the side a touch, I used 20px feathering on the lasso so just missed it....it looks a tad red....
