Hi

Soon I will be in a position to buy a new scope mainly for Planetary and moon observing and imaging I have picked out two at the moment they are.

Skywatcher Skymax 180 pro on a EQ5 goto.

Celestron C8-SGT XLT goto.

Or as anybody got any more Suggestions

Or would a long focal Length Newt be better ?

For imaging, as in long exposure DSO's, you really need a short focal length, fast scope., f/5 - f/6 seems the common value.

The EQ5 will probably not be stable enough for a 180 Skymax, may not be stable enough at all.

If you are thinking of a webcam then you should be OK.

In general visual and imaging are different areas with some but little overlap.
