Hya Ron, it's a concrete and metal pier.

Guy, I've already sharing your thinking should I find it becomes a problem, some 10" gas tubing would be ideal :p so I'm on the look out .

The turn buckles are a cracking idea Ken and one I'm happy to try.

Malc it's the challenge ! ;)

ok, probably a bit daft but I wonder if wrapping some rope around the four threaded rods (all the way round, not individually) might dampen or lessen the vibration. It probably won't but the fact that it's not rigidly fixed to the rods may help with dampening. If you did it tightly from top to bottom you could also experiment with filling the void with various materials - sand etc...

It might not improve matters much but at least it's quick to try and reversible.

No not really ! :)

used two turn-buckles set diagonally and seems to have done the trick- still deliberating if I now have the height a bit too high :)

Thanks to all for the suggestions, some might've worked but for my particular local design factors :p I tried a few different methods.
