Borrowed a Scope!

Recommended Posts

Hey All,

Borrowed my Old 6" Refractor off my mate today so i am at least armed with a scope now and ready to get out there :clouds1: it's a great telescope but was too big for real observing etc for me but i will see how i get on with it mounted on my HEQ5 mount..

Scope buying is giving me a head ache!

James,

At least you'll be able to extend the tripod legs and still be well balanced, this time of year theres at lot of 'good' objects to look at that are fairly low down. The hassle with those refractors is in the summer when you want to look at The Dumbell, The Ring and M13, they are all near the zenith, you end up with your head on the floor!

Hi Gaz,

Yeah your not wrong there my head was about 2ft off the floor last time i used this scope :clouds1:.. Could do with some kind of platform in the garden then place the scope on that so for objects say 40 degree's stand on the platform and stand off and look at objects higher mmmmmmmmm i feel an idea coming on.

What an eye opener this C6-R is light years away from my old Skywatcher 8" the CA is nearly unbearable viewing Mars was like observing something from a 60's B Movie a purple blob.. Imaging Mars forget it no chance :clouds1:.

Roll on my new scope dont think i will be taking this out again in a hurry..
