NGC 7293 - Helix Nebula

This is a combination of 9 x 10 minute exposures. No color adjustment was made. My first attempt at this object.

The bright parts look really good. I bet there is more faint detail in your data than is showning at the moment, though, because the black point looks clipped. The sky is ultra black and the coloured nebula appears very suddenly out of the darkness when in fact it has very faint outer edges.

Thanks for the comments. I took this without a LP filter. Have one installed now. The skyglow in the city blots out the faint detail. The black point isn't nearly as clipped as it shows in the jpg, especially the small jpg. In the tiff, it shows some of the background sky glow.
