Advice needed on new grab and go scope please

Webcam would be fine and DSLR single exposures of the moon would be okay but no way for long exposures.

Is it safe (for your eyes) to look through the dob and see the green laser? Also, do you have to align the laser like you do the finderscope? The thought of using one of these and a telrad would make my life a whole lot easier

I have seen a few very good images with webcams. I guess they don't weigh that much and shouldn't cause too much of a problem even on a standard 127 mount

Yes, because the beam is pointed into the sky, not into the telescope - never ever do that regardless of the power of the laser. You are looking at the beam of the laser.

You do have to align it, yes, but it is incredibly simple to do.

I found using the laser plus the telrad revolutionised my observing - an amazing difference.

Telrad and laser pointer it is then! I will hold off on the small Mak for now, until I have a peak through someone else's

I have a SW 127 and am not that fond of it TBH. It takes an age to cool down before it gives good views. I am thinking of part-exing it for an ED80 eventually. (low priority ATM). Shorter cool down time and wider field.

I have tried one as well and to be honest found it a bit weak on DSO's etc but on the planets superb. I would say an ED80 would be very nice!
