Isle of Wight: is culver down a good observing location?

I'm probably going to be on the iow in a couple of weeks time, from google maps culver down looks great for views to the west and south.

But is it safe up there at night? Any nutters or undesireable nocturnal activities up there?

Was there last year went to Culver down quite a bit nice pub there that does very nice food it is a nice dark site and once the pub closes it is pretty quite up there apart from 4/5 little houses there are several nice car parks along the road to park and set up

I would think it is safe enough at night there it seems popular enough with camper vans that spend the nights parked up it can get quite blowy up there though
