Cave Neb + ?????

During the clear spell last night I had a go at the Cave Nebula in Cepheus in Ha.

ED80 +QHY9m

10 x 20 min subs

It wasn't until this morning that I noticed that I have something else as well. At first I thought I'd caught a meteor, but going back through the subs realised its on all of them, its not a satellite (too slow) Any Ideas??

1st image is full frame - showing total movement over 2 + hours

3rd image is 100% of a single frame

I’m afraid I can’t help but I’m interested in what it might be.

Have you had a quick rewind in Stellarium to see if anything was passing through?

I've been digging, but can't find a known one. Make sure you keep the subs in case its new

Would an asteroid show up so brightly in Ha?

Have you tried re-stacking in DSS using the comet function to see if it has any faint signs of a tail?

An interesting find nonetheless and having accurate times on the subs, its trajectory should easily be able to be computed.

Paulobao will be able to tell you if it is an asteroid, but I doubt it Martin. My guess would be a high orbit satellite.

Very cool! Nice image and nice catch. I am surprised an asteroid is so bright in Ha, but then again I have never tried to image one so learn something new every day. Well done.

Nice one, leaving it there. I tend to leave sat trails and the like in my images mainly for that reason, it gives a more 'real' sense to the pic for me......
