Any newbies going to the Kielder Autumn Star Party

Old thread but - yes, I'm a newbie, and yes, I'm going to Kielder this autumn!

It's my 30th in October and my wife is getting me a scope. She told me a couple of weeks ago, I got excited and bought some binoculars last week (from Strathspey - very good quality and excellent customer service, as much reported) and have now had three very clear nights of looking at stuff. Given the amount I can see from Cambridge with binoculars, using a telescope in Kielder is hopefully going to be pretty good!

Newbie here as well - very close on deciding to go to Kielder.

I'm actually going there for the August bank holiday weekend for a CaniX competition, so should get a good idea for how the skies are at night (depending on the weather gods of course).
