Strange goings on

Anyone ever had any strange happenings whilst scanning the skies in the dark dark night? Any UFO sightings or Ghost apparitions?

A few years ago, I was laying on the grass listening to 'Jazz in the Park' at Sidmouth.  It wasnt totally dark when I saw a huge orange fireball shoot across the sky.  I swear I could hear the roar of flames ... but that cannot be ... can it? 

I spent the journey back to Exeter looking up, hoping to see another (I didnt!).

I once was looking at a dark sky when a glowing red streak flashed across the sky. It emmited a huge crack and a rumble like thunder.

It turned out it was a Shell being fired by the Royal Artillery probing for the enemy in front of my position, but I have to say it looked totally awesome...
