I do wonder how much of the lighting would have to be switched off for it to even match the midlands (and trust me, I don't live in a "dark" area).

Our streetlights used to be turned off at midnight/1am:) Then we had the new white-light, downward shining, energy saving lights installed. These are only dimmed at that time, not switched off:mad:
