You cannot achieve good enough polar alignment for long exposure imaging by just using the polar alignment scope.

Pretty sweeping statement. I'll not bother offering anymore advise.

Managed 3 minutes at SGL6.. however it is true as it's possible to view the scope from different angles and when you move the screw to focus it undoes any good work of aligning the NCP cross for axial rotation.
