Meade 18mm ultra wide angle 82*

Got to say i love this eyepiece esspecially compared to the pants i had with my scope (only 3" reflector), the reason i bought it was purely from reading threads from this web site and most say that the scope is only as good as the eyepiece, so i thought i would buy a good one, i was contemplating the naglar range withe the same FOV (82*) but they are a bit pricey so i found this for £149 at the telescope house, they also sell it at harrison telescopes but they were out of stock, these were the best prices i could find and they could go up to £260 in some sites. i will say it arrived well packaged and within about 4 days. here is a few pictures to show you what it looks like.

The eyepiece is 400 grams (0.9 pounds), and first impressions through my 3" reflector are great, i have a clear crisp high contrast and good quality colour, and viewing at night i found it very impressive with such a wide FOV. i am getting a 12" dob next year and cant wait to view through that because the 3" is limited, i would also like to compare this to a higher quality eyepiece like a televue or something like that to better measure the quality but i will be purchasing more of this range like the 6.7mm for DSO. all in all excellent eyepiece.

Nice choice they're a great range of eyepieces the Meade S5k UWA's.

Have looked through a few and they are not far away from Naglers.
