New Baader LP Filter v UHC confusion

Morning Guys,

I know this topic has been threaded quite a few times but I wanted to know if anyone has tried the new Baader light pollution filter and how it compares to the UHC one as Baader are now stating that the LP filter enhances galaxies and nebula.

I was under the impression that they're not that hot for nebula viewing, as wanted to buy one from FLO but I.m not sure which would be more appropriate as I enjoy DSO and may have a go at imaging soon.

Thanks

An LP filter will enhance galaxies and nebulae but reducing light pollution. A UHC filter will eliminate more than light pollution, it will cut out wavelengths not associated with emission nebulae and will do a better job on these targets. A UHC filter is no use for non emission targets, you need an LP filter for these.

So, nice to have both!

Do you reckon I could benefit from a light pollution filter? The sky where I go to observe seems fairly dark, and doesn't possess any orangey tinge, however most light pollution maps say that I'm in a moderate to high light pollution area...
