I have just bought a grab and go to which compliments my 6" f11 and 16" f4 dobs. used it last night and got nice wide field views of the coathanger cluster and comet garradd in the same field plus the whole of the veil nebula with the Oiii filter. the double cluster was very nice too.

it's a StarSky 90mm f5.5 refractor and works well on a standard photo tripod. working on an alt-azi mount ordered from Astroboot which will be modded to fit either this tripod or a wooden one I have.

Telrad was roped on temporarily last night but a base is on order. does not look as daft as I expected and I really like/prefer Telrads.

Set ups give me the chance to image and do visual , when we get good skies.

Recently changed jobs from constant nights to normal Mon - Fri day job. More chance to get some imaging done, hopefully.

Clear Skies

Oh.....I'm in love.

Tonight's the first night I've been abe to view anything through my new scope, and all the reviews are right.....it's really quite good. Love the Portamount too - very solid piece of kit and pans about like a dream....if you dreamt about that sort of thing.
