Robert Watson
Hi all,Looking for a little bit of help, I've just got myself a tal 2 Russian scope, it's a 6" with a 1.25".focuser Which is so poor very stiff and cheap looking i was thinking of upgrading this to a 2"Crayford The F/L is 1200 "I hope i'm right here" You can see this scope on my Profile, I'm hoping that this can be done as i think it will make this scope even better than what it is. You can view this scope on my Profile Many Thanks Robert:icon_scratch:
rfdesigner
I have a TAL1M, I think it's the same focusser as yoursTurning one focusser wheel against the other sets the tension (stiffness). Try undoing one wheel a bit.Hope this helps.Derek
AndyH
The Tal R&P focusers can be striped & tuned up, making them beautifully smooth. Stargazers Lounge - Tal R&P focuser rebuildDerek's bang on. The right hand knob acts as the tensioner. Grip the left and unloosen the right one. It may be verrry tight to begin with. I highly recommend a stripdown and relube as explained in the above link.Andy.
