Hi all,Looking for a little bit of help, I've just got myself a tal 2 Russian scope, it's a 6" with a 1.25".focuser Which is so poor very stiff and cheap looking i was thinking of upgrading this to a 2"Crayford The F/L is 1200 "I hope i'm right here" You can see this scope on my Profile, I'm hoping that this can be done as i think it will make this scope even better than what it is. You can view this scope on my Profile Many Thanks Robert:icon_scratch:

I have a TAL1M, I think it's the same focusser as yours

Turning one focusser wheel against the other sets the tension (stiffness). Try undoing one wheel a bit.

Hope this helps.

The Tal R&P focusers can be striped & tuned up, making them beautifully smooth.

Derek's bang on. The right hand knob acts as the tensioner. Grip the left and unloosen the right one. It may be verrry tight to begin with. I highly recommend a stripdown and relube as explained in the above link.

Andy.
