HEQ5 Synscan problem

My HEQ5 sometimes goes off on its own tour of the sky. When slewing to an object or when using the direction keys it just carries on. It will not respond to any keys and have to turn off and align again.

Anyone got any ideas?

Have you checked the power supply/cable/plug?

Most mount problems stem from one of the above.

Yep first thing I checked, all connections seem good. The last time it happend there was quite a lot of dew, but TBH cannot remember this at other times. I guess this could have affected the connections?

have you tried to set the softwarw back to the factory settings ?

might help, there`s a command somewhere in the handset settings to do it.
