english weather strikes again, thick black cloud - not a chance of seeing the eclipse

On the top of the Clent Hills. Thick cloud towards the south east. Lovely sunset in the north west though.

I just got a thin sliver showing through the clouds for a few seconds, pretty poor but strangely exciting.

Totally overcast in Amsterdam too. So gutted, setup all the kit for some photos with some nice clear breaks in the cloud, then 15 mins before moonrise it goes totally overcast. Typical. Was hoping to see the moon go into the Red Light district.

Was good to see it live on the web though.

Even from the flightdeck last night at 32000ft over Germany couldn't see a thing due to high cloud. Gutted as I'd pulled a few strings to get me rostered to fly yesteday evening.
