T / T2 Rings

Hi,

What's the difference between a T and a T2 adaptor ring?

I bought a 58mm to T/T2 ring from Ebay and it doesn't fit any of my T adaptors...

A T thread is a "standard" M42 x0.75mm pitch thread.

A T2 adaptor is usually quoted in term of the T thread to camera body ie "T2 to OES" etc

The T2 has two components - the outer camera body fitment and an inner section (held with three small screws) which has the female T thread.

I think the eBay stepping ring advertised as T/T2 to 58mm was a tad misleading then... Just in case anyone else falls foul of that.

Do you know if there is a stepping ring to take 58mm straight to T?

Baader have a 48mm filter thread to T thread...you could then add standard camera filter set-up rings?

I believe that if trying to fix a camera by its 58mm filter thread to a t-adapter

you will need two items

T/52 filter thread converter + a 52-58mm stepping ring
