Orion Nebula with unmodded toucam

Now that I have a RA drive and can take longer avi's, I thought I would point my unmodded toucam at the Orion nebla and see what happened. Not a lot actually. Even with the gain at nearly maximum, it was only with a lot of post processing that I ended up with this. It could just be noise for all I know, it certainly doesn't resemble anything I recognise. Comment welcome.

60 second avi at 10 fps. All 600 frames stacked in Registrax and all sorts of processing done in PhotoImpact.

Yep that's the brightest bits of the nebula showing through L48 8)

Hard to get anything more with an unmodded Toucam but that shows

how sensitive the little camera is

That looks very promising Legion. I bet if you can add a focal reducer in front of the webcam it'd work even better. Great test.

I just had a look at the prices of focal reducers. Ouch. I'll stick with the plan of having the toucam modded eventually.
