I just picked up one of these used for £10

Bresser Macro stand for pocket binoculars

it contains a 2x common lens, and two prisms to split the image into left and right channels.

I'm thinking it should be relatively easy to convert this into a binoviewer, the only possible issue is with focusing, but we shall see.

I will keep this thread updated with my attempts!
