TS Refractors - Opinions?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I found this site, the refractors look rather nice and seem reasonably priced.

I think that these may be a clone of another brand, but I'm not sure. The 127mm F10 model looks like a Bresser Messier 127.

Any one bought from this company and what do you think of the refractors here? The fact that you can purchase a Ronchi optical test does give one confidence in the optics.

Cheers Steve

That website is years out of date and I believe that Bray imaging doesn't sell astro gear anymore.

You should be looking at the Telescope Service website.

Telescope service is a great company to deal with BTW. You can't get better service anywhere.

TS get the scopes from China, which is where a large percentage of the scopes come from anyway. Their (TS) apo range looks pretty good.

The scopes are the same as many that you can buy under branded names.

Check out the TS site direct: Welcome to Telescope-Service, the euro/pound fluctuation may make it cheaper to get direct from them, also more on their then what Bray display, Shipping is about 15-20 euro as I recall.

TS seem to have a pretty good name for what they sell and the service they provide.

Additionally look at Altair Astro they sell TS scopes as well.

Little disappointed that a UK retailer hasn't done as TS and import a range of the Chinese scopes with their name on. TS do seem to be cornering the market in the non-brand name scope market.

That page is interesting as it has my scope on it (TS 127 x 820 F6.45 achromat)

Here it is on the manufacturers site -

Chinese 80mm/3.2"inch refractor telescope

Edit - Link says 80mm but the page shows the 127
