Bobs Knobs....Springs!

Recommended Posts

I was having problems with my Newt holding collimation when slewing around the sky, after much tightening of various bits with little gain I decided to invest in some of Bob's finest springs:) When I took the mirror out from the tube I could see what the problem was - the springs were not tight enough and the mirror could slide a llittle from side to side. Not so any more:D:D:D Bob's springs are a lot better than the supplied ones and really hold the mirror - I can now go from horizontal to vertical with almost no shift in collimation:hello2: Only cost about $15 if I remember correctly!

I had that upgrade on my Meade Lightbridge 12" - it's almost essential if you are not to be driven nuts by the scope shifting out of collimation all the time !.
