The Astronomik CLS and CLS-CCD

Recommended Posts

I have CLS filter for ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY light polluted skies.

I bought it because it is practically the same as the new CLS-CCD and the difference is only in three transmission levels. The CLS has a 92% ratio and the new CLS-CCD has a raito of 95%. So I didn't get the CLS-CCD because I believe it is more of a marketing revamp of the original CLS...which is still sold as an AP filter and is cheaper. Check out the website:

Astronomik -CLS*filter-

Any inputs on this?

cheers

The CCD CLS has IR cut whereas the standard CLS hasn't. If you're imaging and don't want to use a separate IR cut filter, you need the CCD version, hence the name :)
