Hi All

This is probably a silly question but I will ask it anyway, is there such a thing as a Focal Reducer for a Meade ETX to bring the focal lenght down for wide field obsevations of dso's.

Not really - the ETX is designed for planets etc and has a high focal ratio.

You may be able to use the small filter sized (1.25") reducers if you use a webcam. But to take images of DSO's etc you'd need a long exposure modified webcam anyway.

Scopetronix did a 1.25" reducer for the ETX scopes, goggle it and take a look.

I've somehow aquired one along the way and never owned an ETX scope!

If your interested in it pm me an offer,

Thanks.
