17mm Ethos

After reading just how good many members feel about the Ethos range of EPs i've taken the plunge and ordered a 17mm .

I'm pretty sure that i've ordered the correct size for my scope to start with but would welcome any views.

My scope is a 12" SCT with a long focal length of "3048" , slow F10.

Is anybody using this config at present ? It's a lot of money for me and i feel a bit nervous.

Ethos ep's are fantastic, sure you will be happy with it. I love my 13mm.

If my maths is right, you will get a magnification of around 179 which should be a good, moderately high power view with the great fov which ethos have should be good on quite a wide range of objects.

In your scope the 17mm focal length will be a real workhorse - my betting would be that the Ethos 17 will be one of your most used eyepieces

My scopes are much shorter in focal length than yours so I find the 13mm Ethos an absolute gem

it will be an excellent eyepiece. I fear your 20mm Nagler might be on the chopping block soon!
