I bought this book from "the works" chain of bookshop for £4.99 It seems quite a good book for beginners and experienced alike. If you see it I can recommend it.

The Practical Astronomer (Dk Astronomy): Amazon.co.uk: Anton Vamplew, Will Gater: Books

there are some good descriptions and tips of settting up scopes etc., and also finding your way around the sky. and at that price worth it. IMHO

cheers all
