There's a lot to take in here. It's not a straightforward situation, and there are many ways of working around the problem... if you have the will.

While you assimilate the feedback from the forum, I would suggest that it might be better to have the scopes and not need them rather than need the scopes and not have them. That begs the question... is the sell price of your kit worth more than knowing you can use it any time that takes your fancy?

Don't be hasty with your decision, but make sure the one you make will be the one that makes you happiest.

If it helps, know that your astro kit doesn't particularly depreciate - if you have to sell it to raise funds for something else that will make you happy, then by all means go ahead and do it but you might end up missing it.

If you can, the security angle of a trusted neighbour outside (in their own garden) should go some way to alleviate his daughters distress however that doesn't give them the right to light up YOUR property with THEIR light any more than it would give you the right to shine a light at his daughters bedroom at night...

...just a thought (not suggesting anything).

It might be worth asking if they could fit a shield so that their light falls onto their property and asking if you can do anything to help with this (a good line if you're a carpenter or handy with DIY in some way).

It might also help to get some dark sheets and a retractable washing line? That way you may be able to block the direct light trespass?
