Scheduling a first light.

Planning to show my new 127 SLT its first starlight tonight, if this cloud disappears as predicted.

I've spent a bit of time this afternoon looking at the moon - earthshine and all that - but I don't think daytime counts unless its a solar telescope does it?

I'll post a proper first light report - I'm planning on viewing Saturn first, then seeing how I go with a couple of Messier objects after that.

Thanks guys.

All done, I spent a couple of hours out there, came in to find my hair soaking with dew, the lens at the front completely covered, resolving the question I had as to why things were getting so dim in the eyepiece.

I think I'll really have to have a think about a dew shield, as has been suggested.

Will write up a proper report in the morning, I need to figure out what it was I actually saw.
