First try at solar imaging

Hi All,

The Astrozap Solar filter I ordered arrived yesterday. So I quickly set up the telescope and mount, added the filter and had a fun 20 minutes viewing the sun with various EPs. Really enjoyed being in the warm sunshine while viewing for a change

Anyway, cloud started to roll in so quickly set up my DSLR for a few shots. First one was almost cloud free, the second not.

Found it really difficult to focus in bright sunlight so I'll be putting either a sheild around the end of the scope, or as I'm not far from the shed, doing it view live view on a laptop in the shade.

Anyway, focus isn't spot on (nor were the exposures) but here they are quickly processed from RAWs.

Is very strange to feel warm, when viewing - but really nice.

The second image with the clouds is very nice. Interesting change for viewing sunspots than the usual posts. Thank you for sharing.
