First sight

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I dont get my telescope till the end of May so I have bought a pair of celestron 15x70 binos. I was out last night having a scan and managed to locate the beehive cluster M44 I think. Cant tell you how excited I was to find something. My wife thinks Im nuts!!

Is there anything else I could look for tonight that is viewable with these bins.

Thanks

Tim

If you have a good view of the south, scan around in Canis Major (near Sirius) and you will find loads of stuff. Proceed East and up from there into Leo and Virgo for lots more, then into Coma Berenices and Bootes for even more.

You can also join my astronomy class online - I teach intro astronomy and post activities and things here on SGL for everyone to try out.

You can find them by clicking <HERE>
