Hi all, just joined the forum looks like a helpfull and friendly place. Trying to decide on my first scope, maybe skywatcher explorer 150,250 eq or skyliner 200 dob or maybe skymax 127 mak, ahhh! dont know! ill think some more. Anyway Salute from Liverpool :D

hi welcome to sgl :) from bedfordshire,merseyside is certainly a astronomy hotbed at the moment :D

whats the light pollution like where you are? i have been to the city center and surrounding area many times and would not imagine its much fun there :D

Hi Bunnygod, im about 10 miles outside of liverpool city center so its dosnt seem too bad me (apart from the blumming street lighting etc :D) think i got about a 3.0 from www.need-less.org.uk not to sure if thats good or bad,im a complete noob so i have little to compare it too tbh.

Could be worse though id imagine could be stuck in london or the middle o manc city.Hows it where u are?

its not too bad really ,i live in a smallish town but everywhere is lit up like blackpool seafront!

its not untill you go to a dark site in the country you realise how poor your backyard is.

but on a good night with clear conditions its perfectly acceptable,like you say it could be central london!
