Hi, new to SGL, have spent the last few years peering through a 90mm meade refractor, picking up my CPC 800 tomorrow and really looking forward to it. Any help on necessary accessories / tips would be much appreciated. Many thanks, Alan

Dew shield for sure, think about a dew a control system if you have a lot of damp nights. A luxury - but well worth getting for the superb views is a pair of binoviewers and a 2" diagonal. Field battery pack power supply - essential if you aren't near electric supply - in the uk the dark skies are mostly at certain selected camping sites. And maybe a small selection of decent eye pieces - it only comes with one when bought new. :D

Congrats - a very nice scope!

If you're going down the route of dew heating, would recommend a leisure battery to provide supply and it will allow you to also run laptop off and any other toys! With regards to the the dew strap itself, read up on the reviews of the 'Dew-Not' brand from USA as they 'pull' a lot less juice from the battery. The sole importers are Modern Astronomy.

Clear skies
