M81 First attempt at DSO

Had a go last night at M81. Been struggling with tracking and new software lately so last night I had a serious attempt at longer subs.

I managed 25x360 + 4x360 darks. I used my 190MN and Canon 5DII unmodded. tracked with SW ST102 and QHY5. Not certain yet on how to use flats, bias etc.

I done a simple stack in DSS and tried my hand at stretching the image in PS CS5. As you can see not very well. Finally sprinkled with some star spikes.

I certainly need to learn the processing art after capturing the image.

Nice M81, I´ve never liked this Galaxy as I keep seriously burning out the core trying to get the faint stuff....

I like it in everyone elses photos though.
