The Ring

Well i have only just stopped dancing about since my observing session last night on Salisbury plain.

just a quick post to say that the ring - m57 rocks!

it is an astonishing sight to behold and in my opinion the view I had last night justified the cost of my scope instantly.

also the whirlpool galaxy at 200x mag. showing two very bright galactic cores and dust trails!

Hi DrNeb, M57 is a great sight! its good for being able to accept a decent amount of magnification and on the odd occassion, on nights with good conditions, it has looked outstanding.

i want to at least see through a good scope... never have. any astronomy clubs in livingston area??

I think i have fallen for m57. it's my favourite object so far. it just always looks so pronounced in my scope.

not sure if anything will top it for me in the near future.

Get a 10inch Dob Timelord! it's some serious bang for buck!

Swamp thing, i bet it's a sight to behold in your 16inch!

The only time i had a chance to look at it was 2 days ago, by sheer chance my secondary mirror become dewed up

It is kinda cool yeah.

Mind you a 10" shows it well too specially with an OIII filter.

i havent got a OIII filter yet. its on the list.... and my that is a long list...
